The Consulate says: Happy Birthday GIST!
On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the German International School Toronto together with the Consulate General. Alongside our valued partners from the worlds of culture, education, and business, we looked back on a quarter-century of bilingual education in Toronto.
In their remarks, Acting Consul General Barbara de Tschaschell, Principal Rouven Hollmann, and our Board President Markus Giese each highlighted the importance of German schools abroad in their own way: Ms. de Tschaschell emphasized the long-standing and reliable support provided by the Consulate General; Mr. Hollmann spoke about the outstanding educational quality German schools abroad continue to offer; and Mr. Giese concluded by noting that supporting these schools is not only a cultural responsibility but also a forward-looking investment for businesses.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the inspiring exchange and to our catering sponsors Brandt Meats and Denninger’s for the wonderful food. And a very special thank-you to the team at the Consulate General for their warm hospitality and for hosting us in a venue with a stunning view of Toronto.
Here’s to the next 25 years!
