Voices of GIST: Emma Gort, former student

I was a student at GIST from 2015 to 2024 and made many friends there. It was a very friendly community that welcomed everyone with open arms. I also loved the recurring festivals and traditions, such as the spring picnic, Easter crafts and the Christmas bazaar.

The GIST has shaped me personally, e.g. through the numerous activities and sports, some of which I still enjoy doing. But the most important event for me was the speech competition. I took part every year and was very successful. At the first competition, I had a queasy feeling and was very nervous. As German is not my first language, it was also difficult to write such a long text or speech, but I managed it thanks to some help.

I got support from my German teacher, but also from my class teacher, who were always by my side and helped me. My two nursery school teachers were also always there for me, even after I had started school.
