Voices of GIST: Carole Bennett, President of the Islington United Church

If I were asked today what I want to be when I grow up, I would share hopes that go beyond just choosing a career, because the kind of person one strives to be is so important.  Today I would express the hope that I would grow up to be kind, to help others, to contribute to my community.

To grow up, people need good examples to emulate – do children see grown-ups who demonstrate the best of being human?  That includes growing up in a loving, helpful environment that conveys the positive values that all people aspire to.
