Recap: 25 Year Fest
The German International School Toronto celebrated its 25th anniversary with a vibrant fest that brought together students, families, alumni, and partners. In front of the school building, our community came together and enjoyed German bratwurst hot off the grill, a bouncy castle, a wheel of fortune, plenty of games, and a soundtrack featuring German and Canadian music from the past 25 years.

Showcasing Talent and Vision
A highlight of the day was the student talent show, where our students had the chance to shine, sometimes in surprising new ways. The performances ranged from capoeira and original songs to high-energy dance shows and a magic act that seamlessly morphed into a comedy show.

Inside the classrooms, students invited guests to explore their exhibitions, which included hands-on STEM experiments, original games, and an immersive GIST-themed escape room. Two exhibits offered a glimpse into the future, envisioning how the school might grow and evolve over the next 25 years.
At the opening ceremony, Acting Consul General Barbara de Tschaschell, Principal Rouven Hollmann, and Board President Markus Giese each addressed the guests. Their words reflected pride and warmth as they looked back on GIST’s journey and celebrated the strong school community that continues to shape it.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who made this day possible, especially our anniversary partners: the German Consulate General Toronto, Brandt Meats, Dimpflmeier Bakery, the Goethe-Institut Toronto, and the German Canadian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. We’d also like to thank our generous raffle sponsors, Treetop Trekking Stouffville and Hand & Stone Spa, for their wonderful contributions - our lucky winners were left with big smiles!
We look ahead to the next chapter with excitement. Thank you for celebrating with us. Here's to the next 25 years of GIST. And to continuously growing up.
